Before law school, Tom obtained his BA in Business Administration from the College of St. Thomas in 1976. While attending William Mitchell College of Law, he worked full time at Collins, Buckley, Sauntry & Haugh, PLLP in downtown St. Paul, MN. While at that firm, Tom at one time or another handled most aspects of the general practice of law, including transactional, estate planning, trial and appellate cases.

For over 20 years, Tom has been helping clients solve their legal problems in a prompt, fair and professional manner.

As of September 1, 2001, Tom opened Germscheid & Heimerl, LLC located in St Paul, MN at the intersection of I-694 and White Bear Avenue.

Licensed in MN and WI, he is certified as Civil Trial Specialist by the state of MN and National Board of Trial Advocacy. He concentrates his practice on mediation/arbitration, civil litigation, personal injury. He also does transactional matters and elder law.

He has handled a number of catastrophic injury cases involving brain injuries, burns and amputations, and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has been selected by American Research Corporation Leading American Attorneys in the areas of personal injury, commercial litigation, and workers compensation. He has been selected as Superlawyer every year since 1998 by MN Law and Politics.

He is a qualified neutral for arbitration and mediation under MN Supreme Court Rules.

Tom’s Practice is currently limited to part time non-workers compensation matters.
